Adventure Awaits! Will you answer the call?

Pack your imagination and prepare for adventure! Throughout August, participants will create projects inspired by exploration, discovery, treasure hunting, fantasy journeys, maps, and the great outdoors.

From crafting personalized adventure journals to creating a three-panel artwork and building an explorer's treasure chest, each workshop encourages creativity, storytelling, and imagination.

We'll pause our adventures during the week of August 17 for Mini Masters Art Week, where artists can explore a variety of mediums and discover new creative techniques.

August 4 and 6 10:30-12:30

Adventure Journal Workshop

 

Price: $35 + HST

Participants decorate a hardcover journal using air foam clay, paint, and creative embellishment techniques to create a personalized adventure journal perfect for recording discoveries, stories, maps, and future adventures.

All supplies included. (Children 10 and under require adult supervision.)

Adventure Through Art: Pokémon Silhouette Triptych

 

Price: $35 + HST

What does adventure mean to you?

In this unique painting workshop, participants will create a three-panel canvas artwork (known as a triptych) using Pokémon-inspired silhouettes as creative stencils. Each panel can represent a different kind of adventure: exploring nature, discovering new places, embarking on imaginary quests, spending time with friends, or anything else that sparks imagination.

The three canvases can be displayed together to create one cohesive artwork that celebrates a personal sense of adventure.

All supplies are included. (Children 10 and under require adult supervision.)

Week of August 17

Mini Masters Art Week

 

Single Day: $35 + HST
Full Week: $149 + HST

Let your child explore their creative side during Mini Masters Art Week at Event Horizon Hobbies!

Each day, kids will try a different art medium including watercolour, acrylic paint, pastels, mixed media, and messy expression art. They'll learn beginner-friendly techniques, experiment with colours and textures, and create their own finished artwork each day to bring home.

Daily Activities

Day 1: Watercolour Wonders

• Soft colours, blending, and water effects.

Day 2: Acrylic Canvas Day

• Paint a pre-drawn canvas or create an original design.

Day 3: Pastel Power

• Blend, smudge, and create colourful pastel artwork.

Day 4: Messy Masterpieces

• Explore texture using fingers, sponges, cotton balls, forks, stamps, cardboard, bubble wrap, and more.

Day 5: Gallery Showcase Day

• Create a final masterpiece using a favourite medium from the week.

Explorer's Treasure Chest Adventure Workshop

 

Price: $35 + HST

Every great adventurer needs a place to store their treasures!

In this hands-on workshop, participants will paint and customize their own wooden explorer's treasure chest using faux leather accents and creative adventure-themed details. They'll also create a treasure map and build a miniature explorer's spyglass to complete their adventurer's kit.

 

Participants are encouraged to bring a few small treasures or special trinkets from home to store inside their finished chest. Whether imagining hidden pirate treasure, exploring ancient ruins, or setting off on a grand expedition, this workshop is the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of adventure.

 

All supplies are included, including the wooden chest, paints, faux leather materials, treasure map supplies, and spyglass components.
