The Heroes of Cocoon battled the invasion of Ulga and emerged victorious, but when control of Ulga was lost, Magog exploded and fell on Cocoon. Undeterred, the heroes embarked on a journey to Solaris aboard the spaceship created by Falchion. Meanwhile, the heroes who remained in Cocoon began to rebuild their homeland, which had been polluted by the curse of Magog.

They descended to the Crimson Moon, which is located between Cocoon and Solaris. Their arrival on the Crimson Moon was met with hostility, however, as the creator of Solaris sent new Gears to attack the heroes. The Crimson Moon was home to many powerful forces, and another battle erupted between Cocoon and Solaris as both vied for its control. As the battled raged on the Crimson Moon, Aristella awoke to his newfound power.
