A Night at the Movies That Made a Real Difference: Lilo & Stitch Screening Recap

A Night at the Movies That Made a Real Difference: Lilo & Stitch Screening Recap

On Sunday, May 25th, something magical happened at Galaxy Theatres in Midland. Our local community came together—not just for a heartwarming screening of Lilo & Stitch, but to support a greater cause: providing essential pet supplies and food to the OSPCA and local food banks.

Hosted by Event Horizon Hobbies, this private movie night wasn’t just about nostalgia or popcorn (though there was plenty of both). It was about stepping up for pets and families who need us most. With every ticket purchased, attendees brought in donations ranging from unopened pet food and poop bags, to laundry detergent, liver treats, and more.

We’re proud to share that almost 300 lbs of supplies were collected! That’s 300 lbs of love, support, and care that will go directly to local families and animals in need.

Why It Matters

The OSPCA and local food banks play a critical role in our community—especially now. Many households are facing impossible choices, and sometimes that means deciding between feeding themselves or their pets. No one should have to make that decision.

This event was a reminder of what happens when community meets compassion. It proved that even a simple night out at the movies can have a powerful impact when it’s fueled by kindness.

Thank You, Critters 🐾

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped spread the word. Whether you brought treats, detergent, or just your amazing energy—we see you, and we appreciate you.

Our Critters really do rock.

Stay tuned for future events, community drives, and more ways to give back. Until then, give your pets an extra cuddle from us!
